Staying Safe Online, Telephone, Mobile & at your Door
During this period, criminals will attempt to defraud and steal for the unwary. Here are some tips to help keep you aware and safe.
Text, SMS and Email
SMS and email will be used to try and phish your personal details - don't click any links in unsolicited emails and think twice before you enter your data or hand over payment data
Fake or Short Supply Products
Avoid scams for fake goods or short supply products - buy from retailers you trust
Take care over the permissions you grant to apps you download on your mobile phone and check younger or more vulnerable family members aren't being careless.
Don't entertain door knockers looking for donations or anyone purporting to be from a bank or legal agency who might need to seize cards, cheque books or cash as evidence. Any genuine caller will be verifiable - check credentials, and have the confidence to simply turn people away.
Working from Home
Whilst working from home take the time to protect what you do for your employer.
